We had a very warm trip up to York today on the train from Morley. We went as a Birthday treat for me to see the Mallard 75 celebrations at the National Railway Museum. All the remaining 6 A4 class steam trains, have been gathered together for just a fortnight as a celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the world record breaking speed record for a steam train.<\/p>\n
As the media had reported the crowds were immense, and when we got there, 5 minutes before it opened, the queue was massive. Thankfully once they’d opened the doors, we were in within 15 minutes, as we left they were operating the 1 in, 1 out process and apparently the queue was around 1.5 hours!!!<\/p>\n
The trains were stunning, as was the new Station Hall renovation which was on show, and photos below show those as well. In here were a number of Royal coaches, which are seriously impressive!!<\/p>\n
This was also an opportunity to try out my new camera!!<\/p>\n
