Fledging sparrows!
Looked out of the back bedroom window this morning to see a family of sparrows – with what we reckon to be at least 8 fledglings! They were a little unsure of flying, and realising that only one at a time can feed at the feeders. Mum was eating food and passing it along to…

Lathkill Dale, White Peak, Derbyshire
Gorgeous walk today around Lathkill Dale in the Peak District. Really warm day (around 25 degrees) and next to no shelter. However, heat pales into insignificance with the gorgeous surroundings and very few other people (bet the dark peak was heaving!) One interesting part was Magpie Mine which we never knew existed, and apart from…

Going to the Michelin starred Bohemia restaurant in St Helier this evening. The chef us Shaun Rankin (winner of Great British Menu)…

Wednesday
Went to Jersey Lavender farm this morning which was interesting and very pleasant. The tea shop also sold the most gorgeous lavender shortbread. In the afternoon, we had a cruise along the south coast of the island. Lovely weather, and not too choppy. Had a splendid time!! — Post From My iPhone
