Little visit this afternoon to Nostell Priory (http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-nostellpriory) as it’s a nice day and only 20 mins drive away. They’ve done quite a bit of work since I last went, having moved the car part from the far side of the house to just inside the gates. This has the affect of preventing traffic driving right in front of the house and spoiling the view, and it now provides a nice little wander to the house with the great view of the house and parkland.
The stables (housing the cafe) is having solar panels put on the roof to power the cafe, toilets and visitor hut which is an excellent idea.
One day we’ll go when all the rhododendrons are out, but it’s a great little walk around the lakes.
